Questions
About a quote request
- What can I get a quote for?
- Furniture for commercial projects in the United States, indoor and outdoor: hotels and resorts, restaurants and bars, colleges and schools, apartments and senior living, offices, health care, and parks and public spaces. A request can cover seating, tables, lounge furniture, casegoods (furniture built as boxes and panels, such as dressers and desks), storage and lockers, and shade and umbrellas. The pages on each project type list what a request can include.
- Does it cost anything to send a request?
- No. Sending a request is free and does not oblige you to buy anything.
- What should a request include?
- The quantity of each item, the size or model, the finishes, the delivery ZIP code, the date the furniture has to be on site, whether it goes indoors or outdoors, and any standards the project has to meet. The checklist for a quote request goes through each one.
- Can I send drawings or a spec sheet?
- The form takes no uploads. Put a link to a shared file or folder in the field for a spec sheet or plan.
- Can I request a quote through ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant?
- Yes. Paste the prompt from the page for AI assistants into any assistant, or add the connector at https://contractfurniture.us/mcp to an assistant that accepts remote MCP servers. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard many assistants use to connect to outside services.
- Which standards can a request name?
- Any the project requires, such as a standard for seating, tables or storage from BIFMA, the trade association for business and institutional furniture makers, a fabric abrasion level from the Association for Contract Textiles, or the ADA dimensions for accessible tables. The guide to standards for commercial furniture lists them.
